Transfer Patient FAQ

Yes! We welcome transfer patients, whether you recently relocated to Austin for a new job, moved for family or personal reasons, or simply need to continue your orthodontic treatment with a new provider.

Your previous orthodontist can send your orthodontic records directly to our office. Once we receive your records, our orthodontist will review your treatment history and determine the best way to continue your care.

Not necessarily. We will review your existing records, including your X-rays, photos, treatment history, and other relevant information, to understand where you are in your treatment and determine the appropriate next steps.

No. Your financial agreement with your previous orthodontist remains between you and your original provider and cannot be transferred to our office. When you transfer to our practice, we will establish a new treatment agreement with you.

The cost will depend on your individual situation and the estimated duration remaining in your treatment. After reviewing your records and evaluating your treatment needs, we will provide you with the appropriate treatment fee and payment options before moving forward.

Your original financial agreement remains your responsibility. Any remaining balance, cancellation fees, or other obligations under your previous contract must be addressed directly with your original orthodontist.

That’s okay! With your authorization, we can contact your previous orthodontist and request the records needed to evaluate your case.

In many cases, yes. Our orthodontist will evaluate your current appliances and treatment plan to determine whether we can continue with your existing treatment or whether any changes are recommended.

We recommend contacting us as soon as you know you will be relocating. This gives us time to request your records and schedule an evaluation so your orthodontic treatment can continue with as little interruption as possible.
